On June 6th, art, fashion and the mystic of masquerade will meet on a 30 foot runway for a truly unique and theatrical event. This annual art and design competition features some of Austin’s most talented artists, designers and jewelers. Submissions are daring and inspired original works of wearable art. To add to the fun, these one-of-a-kind creations will be auctioned off during the runway show. All Art Bra models in this transformative experience are breast cancer survivors. Art Bra Austin is a tribute to their courage, strength and tenacity. For more information of this uplifting and visually stunning event visit their website. Staffed with breast cancer survivors, Certified Patient Navigators will work directly with breast cancer patients, providing practical guidance “to replace fear, anxiety and doubt with information, options and hope.” They help those affected by breast cancer navigate through everything from the murky waters of insurance and employment obstacles, as well as family relationships and even end-of-life decisions. BCRA provides a myriad of support groups and educational seminars so that patients are educated and surrounded with support. Their goal is to empower their clients to be “active and knowledgeable participants in their healthcare”. And all of this is provided free of charge and made available to anyone, no restrictions.
